The Queen Butterfly is a smaller, darker relative of the Monarch Butterfly. They do not migrate and are typically found in the Sonoran Desert. They are frequent visitors to flower blossoms and also enjoy the nectar of the climbing milkweed which is a species native also to the Sonoran Desert.

I have always had an interest in photography but it wasn’t until a recent birthday present from my husband that I had a camera I really felt comfortable using. Looking through the lens of a camera has changed how I see the world around me. While I think pictures are a great way to share memories, to me they are also a great way to tell a story. My hope is that the viewers of my photos can relate to them and see the uniqueness that I see. I really enjoy macro photography - getting a close up look at the beauty that God has surrounded us with. It amazes me how I notice things while carrying a camera that I never would have seen before. Lighting, shadows and reflections are now seen with an eye for detail instead of a passing...
