Revisiting with new perspective: Deb, I now understand this small, wood-framed structure once served as a schoolhouse… I like the simple design of this aging building; the boarded windows & doors, missing shingles and dead vines, add to its appeal. PS: I have a similar-looking hand pump in my yard, except, mine is rusted-red. L&F

Doug, Thank you very much for your insightful comments...how nice of you. I always appreciate your support, visit and promotion. I hope you have a wonderful day.

I look at this old house and I see the detail at the cone of the roof and that tells me that someone once took time to build this with love and now to see it abandoned is very sad.. Must be many memories lived out there! Beautiful shot and I also see an old water pump in the foreground! f/love

Deb, WOW! You and your husband went to First Grade together? That's really a wonderful story! Sad image of the old school house! Will they restore it? Really interesting stories and photos you have Deb! Fav'd and voted..........

Deb Halloran replied:

Hi Kym, Thanks for your wonderful comments. It is always so nice to hear from you. No, we did not go to school together, this is where my husband went to 1st and 2nd grade. It is not likely that they will restore it as it has been like this for a long time. However, it would be nice if they would. I sincerely appreciate your support and promotion.

About Deb Halloran

Deb Halloran

I have always had an interest in photography but it wasn’t until a recent birthday present from my husband that I had a camera I really felt comfortable using. Looking through the lens of a camera has changed how I see the world around me. While I think pictures are a great way to share memories, to me they are also a great way to tell a story. My hope is that the viewers of my photos can relate to them and see the uniqueness that I see. I really enjoy macro photography - getting a close up look at the beauty that God has surrounded us with. It amazes me how I notice things while carrying a camera that I never would have seen before. Lighting, shadows and reflections are now seen with an eye for detail instead of a passing...
