Description
The Autumn Joy Sedums in our garden are the only flowering plants still hanging on to their blossoms and color. These plants are known for their late blooming and colors for late summer and early fall enjoyment. They also attract bees and butterflies so we can enjoy nature in other ways. Our sedums have been covered with honey bees and Painted Lady butterflies for the last week. The Painted Lady butterfly will migrate but not seasonally. When they do migrate they may fly 100 miles per day at speeds up to 30 mph but at low altitudes ranging from 6 to 12 feet above the ground. I think our Sedums may have interrupted one of their migrations given the large number of them in our garden for the past few days.
