Description
In 1933 the white poppy was introduced by the Women�s Co-operative Guild as a lasting symbol of peace and an end to all wars. While the white poppy was never intended to diminish the sacrifice of those who had died in battle it was felt by many that it undermined the contribution and lasting meaning of the red poppy.
