Description
The cactus plant is a member of the plant family Cactaceae. While they come in many sizes and shapes they all have one thing in common and that is their ability to survive in the hot, arid desert climate. The cacti are native to the Americas, ranging from Patagonia in the south to parts of western Canada. They are even found in the Atacama Desert which is one of the driest places on earth. Most cacti flower annually and when they are blooming the desert is in full color. The flowers, unfortunately, do not last long due to the heat but while present provide some of the most vivid colors.
