Artist's Description
Contrary to the image its name implies, the blue hibiscus is neither blue nor a true hibiscus. The Blue Hibiscus is a fast growing evergreen shrub. This shrub loves full sun and is drought tolerant.
Blue hibiscus flowers bloom in a variety of colors. Flower colors include bluish-lilac, purple, violet, mauve, pink, yellow and white. This evergreen shrub originated in Western Australia and bears wrinkled, hairy leaves with multiple lobes. Flowers average 4 to 6 inches in diameter and bloom from late spring through early autumn. Shrubs grow to heights and widths of approximately 6 feet and feature dull-green, lobed leaves.

I have always had an interest in photography but it wasn’t until a recent birthday present from my husband that I had a camera I really felt comfortable using. Looking through the lens of a camera has changed how I see the world around me. While I think pictures are a great way to share memories, to me they are also a great way to tell a story. My hope is that the viewers of my photos can relate to them and see the uniqueness that I see. I really enjoy macro photography - getting a close up look at the beauty that God has surrounded us with. It amazes me how I notice things while carrying a camera that I never would have seen before. Lighting, shadows and reflections are now seen with an eye for detail instead of a passing...
