The claret cup cactus is native to the southwestern portions of North America. These cacti grow easily so they are often a favorite of desert landscapes because of their heat tolerance and the fact they will usually begin blooming after 3 to 4 years of growth. Their flowers are showy and extremely attention getting.

I have always had an interest in photography but it wasn’t until a recent birthday present from my husband that I had a camera I really felt comfortable using. Looking through the lens of a camera has changed how I see the world around me. While I think pictures are a great way to share memories, to me they are also a great way to tell a story. My hope is that the viewers of my photos can relate to them and see the uniqueness that I see. I really enjoy macro photography - getting a close up look at the beauty that God has surrounded us with. It amazes me how I notice things while carrying a camera that I never would have seen before. Lighting, shadows and reflections are now seen with an eye for detail instead of a passing...
