Description
The barrel cactus is considered one of the most dangerous cacti because of their long spines. A wound deep enough to draw blood is considered a �dirty wound� and may require antibiotics. These cacti species will take many years before producing their beautiful flowers. The flowers will appear only on the top of the cactus and are usually bright yellow or orange. The pink or red flowers appear far less frequently.
